Creamy Caraway Cheddar

For your next party, skip the dense, cracker-breaking store-bought cheese ball and opt instead for our creamy, smooth, caraway-and-cheddar spread. Dry mustard, smoked paprika, and pepper lend a pleasant spice to this satisfying dip. Perfect with crackers or crostini.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup low-fat plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons caraway seeds, toasted*
  • 1 teaspoon bottled minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika or paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • Club® Multi-Grain crackers

Directions

1. Place cheddar cheese in small mixing bowl. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.

2. Add cream cheese and yogurt to cheddar cheese. Beat on medium speed of electric mixer until fluffy. Add 1/4 cup onions, caraway seeds, garlic, dry mustard, paprika and pepper. Beat until combined. Garnish with additional green onions, if desired. Serve with Club® Multi-Grain crackers or cover and refrigerate for up to 48 hours.

*Note: To toast caraway seeds, place them in small heavy skillet. Heat over medium-high heat for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until brown and fragrant, shaking skillet frequently.
